This site has been constructed to support the residents and businesses in the Mt Pleasant Community of Vancouver from Kingsway and Scotia St. to the west, Great Northern Way to the north, Clark Dr. to the east and 12th Ave. to the south.
Positive Action
We believe that the change required to transform our neighbourhood must come from within and that it must always involve positive energy, trust, cooperation and action.
Volunteerism
We believe in providing large and small opportunities for our neighbours to volunteer whatever time they can on diverse and positive neighbourhood improvement activities.
Partnerships
We believe that through cooperation and a united voice, many strong partnerships can be developed with government, businesses, police and the Collingwood Community Policing Center that will help enable positive change in our neighbourhood.
Relationship Building
We believe that knowing your neighbours is one of the most important steps to good public safety. Through community events and volunteering, we enable neighbours to get to know each other and who knows, maybe become friends!
Fund Raising
Various sources of funding exist for community restoration activities. We are, therefore, becoming a non-profit society and will work hard to access these funds for neighbourhood improvements.
Construction of this web site will continue indefinitely as the Mt Pleasant C.A.R.E.S. community group develops and strengthens.
